Stormwater Management Plan
What is a Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP)? In simplest terms, it’s a plan that helps reduce pollutants in rainwater or melted snow from streets, lawns, rivers, and other sites. This water runs into streams and rivers.
How is a Stormwater Management Plan different from a Stormwater Master Plan?
The Stormwater Master Plan (SMP) is a City document that helps us understand how well our stormwater collection system works. It identifies areas of potential flooding and identifies future conveyance projects.
The Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) is a regulatory document that helps protect stormwater quality. It provides a plan for community outreach and involvement, protecting construction stormwater runoff, design and inspection of post-construction stormwater quality facilities, and guides maintenance and operation activities.
Millersburg’s SWMP was developed in compliance with the requirements of the MS4 Permit.
