Building Permits & Applications
The City of Millersburg shares Building Department duties and responsibilities with Linn County. The County Building Official is also the City's Building Official.
Building permit applications should be submitted using the Linn County Accela ePermitting (see below). All plans can be submitted digitally, and payments taken in over the internet with ePermitting. Applications can still be submitted to the City if preferred, and the City will help an applicant submit a payment with a credit-card over the front counter at City Hall. Payments using cash or check must be made in person at the County Building Department- 300 SW 4th Ave, room 114 Albany.
No building permit can be issued until all County and City fees are paid. That includes all system development charges for new development.
The City of Millersburg uses Linn County building permit applications for residential and commercial building permits, you can find the full list of building applications here. Here are direct links to the most popular applications:
- Commercial Building Permit Application
- Residential Building Permit Application (Also requires the Millersburg Combined Construction Permit Application below)
- Plumbing Permit Application
- Mechanical Permit Application
The County Accela ePermitting can be found HERE. In some cases (complex projects) applications may not be considered complete until the City of Millersburg has all drawings and supporting documents. Applicants may need to submit paper drawings to the City at the same time they submit electronically to the County.
The building permit fees are submitted in essentially two steps- an applicant must pay the County "Plan Review" cost at the time of the application submittal to assure the County's review costs are covered. Once that is paid the City and County will review the documents and notify the applicant of the remaining fees prior to the issuance of the building permit. System Development Charges (SDC's) are paid separately to the City directly.
Some building-related permits and fees are administered directly by the City, those applications are below. Feel free to contact City Hall with any questions.
